Stupak Community Center Health Fair a Success

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - 21 November 2009. Lab Express provided glucose screenings and other blood tests to over 100 low income and disadvantaged people at a Heath Fair organized yesterday at the City of Las Vegas Stupak Community Center, located at 300 W. Boston Avenue.

"God blessed us with a beautiful day and great community volunteers. Thank you to all involved in making this event possible for the people of Las Vegas," stated City of Las Vegas, Nevada Mayor Oscar Goodman.

Experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention expect diabetes to affect more than 48 million people by 2050.

"The first step in prevention is the diagnostic test. It is especially important to make diabetes prevention a priority for people who are at increased risk of diabetes, for example, those overweight or with a family history of diabetes," remarked Myra Farrell, M.A., C.E.O. of Lab Express.
