Lab Express Offers Introductory Price for PLAC Test at Only $69

FDA-approved blood test helps Physicians determine hidden risk for stroke or heart attack.

Lab Express announced today it will offer The PLAC
® Test at an introductory price of only $69.

It is no secret that a great number of people die every year of coronary heart disease. However, many people are not aware that most heart attacks are not caused by plaque buildup, but by plaque rupture causing blood clots that block the blood flow. (1)

Fortunately, there is a simple new and affordable blood test that goes beyond traditional risk factors to help identify patients at increased risk of heart disease and stroke. The PLAC® Test is a simple blood test that aids in detecting one’s risk for both CHD and ischemic stroke, and Lab Express is offering the test at an introductory price of only $69.

"At Lab Express, we are committed to providing our community with the most affordable and accessible laboratory services," stated Dr. Isaac Farrell, Director of Lab Express. We want to make certain the PLAC® Test is not only affordable but accessible to people 45 and older who may be on a fixed budget or lack proper insurance coverage. Our Phlebotomists will come to their homes to draw the blood, making it convenient, confidential, and personal," concluded Dr. Farrell.

The PLAC® Test measures Lp-PLA2 (lipoprotein-associated phospholipase), a vascular-specific inflammatory enzyme implicated in the formation of rupture-prone plaque. It is plaque rupture and thrombosis, not stenosis, that cause the majority of cardiac events.

Used in conjunction with the clinical evaluation of traditional risk factors, the PLAC® Test helps identify people who may not be identified by traditional risk factors and who may benefit from more aggressive treatment programs.

The PLAC® Test is the only blood test cleared by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) to aid in assessing risk for both coronary heart disease and ischemic stroke associated with atherosclerosis.

Lab Express to Offer Free Glucose or Cholesterol Testing

Committed to Serving Our Community

Lab Express, one of Las Vegas' most affordable independent medical testing providers, provided free cholesterol tests or free glucose tests to almost 200 people during the Opportunity Expo, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel & Casino.

Lab Express understands that knowledge is power and is dedicated to helping people learn the true state of their health.

High cholesterol can lead to many health problems including heart disease. Glucose test results can be an early indicator of diabetes. Yet many people are hesitant to get tested for fear their health insurance status may be jeopardized. By providing individuals their choice of free confidential cholesterol testing or free glucose testing, Lab Express helped many Nevadans get the early screening they needed to take preventive measures, with the guidance of their Physicians.

"As a mother, I understand the importance of knowing how your family is doing. I want my company to help other mothers and families stay on top of their health. I glad many people took advantage of this special offer and to the Latin Chamber of Commerce Nevada for organizing this successful event," stated Myra Farrell, C.E.O. of Lab Express.

About Lab Express: Lab Express is one of Nevada's most affordable independent medical testing provider. They offer discounted medical testing with laboratory tests performed on site at many of their facilities. Because tests are processed on-site, results are faster and far more reliable. Lab Express is open to the public, walk-ins are welcome, no appointment is necessary, insurance is not needed, and with physicians on staff, they have you covered for a doctor's referral.
